At the beginning of 2020, Alameda County Water District (ACWD) wanted to create an explainer video to inform residents about the water supplier’s history, facilities, and services. I illustrated and animated the maps of counties ACWD serve and the California State Water Project.
I animated these two animations were designed and animated, used in the final ACWD explainer video.
Before animation, I presented these designs to the client to ensure hierarchy and placement was ready to transfer into After Effects. This involved accurately recreating the maps in Illustrator and designing these maps so they can zoom in and out while making the text readable.
